What once was a regular residential neighborhood, Tianzi Fang is now a maze of small alleyway boutiques featuring artists’ crafts for sale.
The homeyness feel of the neighborhood serves as a reminder to tourists what this place really is: a marketplace in someone’s home. Be careful of the hanging laundry and electrical wires strung overhead.
You can easily get lost in this niche outdoor/ indoor labyrinth while shopping for unique souvenirs and come across cute artistic doors like this.
If you get hungry, stop by the cat cafe or one of the many restaurants and bars to fuel up.
To find Tianzi Fang, look for the entrance above. It’s hidden from the main road but take Taikang Road off of Ruijin 2nd Road and you’ll find this creative neighborhood to your left.
